Cellulite Treatment
Cellulite is the growth of fat cells surrounded by connective tissue in the subcutaneous area, causing the connective tissue to stretch. This leads to changes in the connective tissue that disrupt nutrition, leading to loss of skin elasticity. Genetic predisposition, a sedentary lifestyle, and an unhealthy diet are the primary factors contributing to the development of cellulite. Furthermore, excessive and irregular weight gain and loss, as well as pregnancy, can also trigger cellulite formation.
Managing the patient’s lifestyle and diet should be the first step in preventing and reducing cellulite formation. Mesotherapy is one of the most effective methods for cellulite treatment. It’s applied to the middle layer of the skin using short, fine needles. Medications and herbal cocktails are administered to the affected area to break down fat, stimulate circulation, tighten skin, and restructure the skin. Recurrence of cellulite can be reduced with 10-12 treatments performed once or twice a week, followed by monthly maintenance treatments.
Ozone Therapy for Cellulite: Ozone is effective against cellulite through various mechanisms. It reacts with the double bonds of unsaturated fatty acids accumulated in the skin, breaking down fat chains. The broken down fat is then eliminated from the body. It also increases the oxygen-carrying capacity of red blood cells, improving blood flow in capillaries and accelerating fat tissue metabolism.
Regular medical massages and exercises are other treatments for cellulite.
